Free: VCR and Demi Moore Movie

They had me at “Free VHS” (not that I would waste one second of my day picking up this dusty, 1990’s contraption (pictured below) – but at least there’s some nostalgic value attached to it).

But when the author of this Craigslist post threw in a VHS tape of The Scarlet Letter (1995) starring Demi Moore and Gary Oldman, they lost me for good (and I almost contacted Craigslist to report them for abuse).

I’m sure Demi Moore is nice lady, adoring mom and hot wife, but some things (like all of her films, except for Ghost) should simply never be unearthed.  If my expert opinion isn’t enough to persuade you, know that I have the official backing of the Razzies Awards Committee who voted The Scarlet Letter as one of the “100 Most Amusingly Bad Movies Ever Made“.

In case you’ve forgotten just what a stinker The Scarlet Letter was (leaving that horrible memory tucked safely away in the 1990’s recesses of your mind along with other horrid 90’s memories we’d all like to forget like boy bands, the dot-com, internet porn for a fee, that stained blue dress, y2K and all-night coke binges), here’s a clip from the movie:

Demi Moore has aged far better than most of her films (and the VCR has aged better than the both of them).

I imagine the old VCR and Demi Moore are still sitting in this guys basement.  He would’ve had a taker had he left Demi’s Moore’s movie on the curb where it belongs.  For the poor sucker who dares to take this lad up on his offer, you can always send the movie to someone who owes you money with a note attached saying, “Give me my money or things… will… get… ugly.”
